Finance for a Sustainable Future is the first initiative focused on improving sustainability skills among junior finance professionals in Europe. Since our establishment in 2017, we have worked towards this by:
- Giving students and young finance professionals a platform to discuss and learn about sustainability issues;
- Connecting junior professionals to financial institutions with a strong focus on sustainability;
- Building partnerships with international organisations, universities, research institutes and NGOs; and
- Engaging with finance firms to encourage them to include sustainability in their core training programs.
A financial system where all institutions have the skills required to fully incorporate social and environmental sustainability considerations into every capital allocation decision.
Lead a movement to provide junior professionals with the skills required for a sustainable finance system.
THE 2018 CONFERENCE
From 29 to 31 September 2018, we hosted Europe’s first conference on sustainable finance for finance students and young professionals. The conference was held in the beautiful premises of the Schebek Palace in Prague, Czech Republic. It brought together a diverse group of leading finance talents working or studying in Europe, and gave them an opportunity to learn from some of today’s top experts in sustainable finance.
You can read more about our conference in the conference report available here.
2017: our mission was recognised by the McKinsey NGWL Award
2018: we were selected as one of the top 5 European youth environmental initiatives by the UN Environment Young Champions of the Earth prize

“The participants [of the 2018 Finance for a Sustainable Future Conference] were well selected, their different backgrounds contributed to creating a diverse group of engaged young professionals, who were clearly interested in the topics discussed. Discussions were lively and most participants contributed with their questions and input to dynamic sessions.”

“Speaking at the 2018 Finance for a Sustainable Future conference was definitely an enriching experience…I was impressed by the quality of the other speakers and the very smooth organization of the event…FSSF is a much needed initiative with a very bright future ahead!”
– Sabrina Ritossa Fernandez (Sycomore)
“I think it’s a very good initiative, touching a sub-sector within finance that attracts more and more talent. I applaud any initiative that “mainstreams” sustainable finance since this is unfortunately still not the case in all universities/masters in Finance.”
– Joseph Segarra (Quadia)
